Allison Mack: From ”Smallville” to Sex Cult ‘’Master’’

Allison Mack, famous for her role in television series ‘’Smallville’’, is currently serving house-arrest on charges of sex trafficking, forced labor conspiracy, and sex trafficking conspiracy.

Speaking on the Megyn Kelly Today show, Actress Samia Shoaib has called out Allison Mack for her attempts to recruit Samia for the sex cult.

Earlier this month, Mack was arrested on charges of forced labor conspiracy and sex trafficking by federal prosecutors. The actress was involved in a bigger group which recruited its followers under the guise of mentorship but instead exploited them.

Nxivm, the group for which Mack helped recruit followers, was founded in 1998 and is currently based in Albany, New York. Keith Raniere, its 57-year-old founder, was arrested in March by the US Federal Officials in Mexico on the charges of sex trafficking.

One complainant has alleged that the followers of the Nxivm group were forced to have sex with Raniere. Otherwise, Raniere threatened them with the release of their private information which the members submitted at the time of their entry into the group.

A report in NY Times quote former members of the group saying that as its founder, Raniere demanded complete obedience from the followers of his group. They further alleged that within Nxivm, a secret society called ‘’DOS’’ was created by Raniere.

‘’DOS’’ was like a hierarchal organization where the ‘’masters’’ – a euphemism for the founders of the group, headed women ‘’slaves’’. To become masters, ‘’slaves’’ were required to lure more recruits, who, in turn, provided ‘’service’’ to everyone above them in the DOS pyramid.

Officials say that the status of Ms. Mack in the group was immediately below that of Mr. Raniere, hence she was a master herself.

Another letter which federal prosecutors admitted in the court describes the work which was expected of slaves in the group. For instance, slaves were required to perform ‘’acts of tribute’’ and ‘’acts of care’’ for their masters without any compensation.

Worse, the slaves had no choice but to participate in ‘’readiness drills’’, a routine which required them to respond to the call of their masters at any time of the day. So vigorous was the routine that most of the slaves were sleep deprived, the letter said.

It further added that the women had no choice but to be branded with a cauterizing pen in their pelvic regions. The symbol, of whose origin the women were unknown, contained the initials of Raniere.

After she was taken into custody, Mack was released by federal prosecutors for a $5million bond on April 24. To cover the bail of their daughter, her parents put their house as collateral.

Currently, Mack is serving home arrest with a high-end electronic monitoring system ensuring her presence. She is also involved in plea negotiations with the prosecutors, and it is believed that Mack has expressed her readiness to cooperate with them to prepare a watertight case against Raniere.

Avengers: Infinity War made history by doing a business of $630 million on its opening weekend, overtaking the record of $542 million set by the Fate of the Furious in 2017.

It has been years since Tony Stark turned down Deadpool, however, the foul-mouthed superhero isn’t any sore loser. Consequently, when ‘’Avengers: Infinity War’’ made history worldwide after its blockbuster opening weekend, Ryan Reynolds, aka Deadpool, decided to congratulate them with a Deadpool joke.

On his Twitter page which has over a () million followers, Ryan posted a letter in which Tony Stark rejected the request of Deadpool for a place in the mass of Marvel superheroes. The photo posted by the 41-year-old was a letter from Tony Stark.

The subjection line of the rejection letter contained the phrase: ‘’Re: Joining the Avengers’’ before reading, “No. Absolutely not. Go bother Prof. X. No.”

Ryan Reynolds posted this letter with the caption: “From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers.”

It needs to be remembered that while Ryan is taking the mickey out of Avengers, it hails from the same Marvel Comic series as Deadpool. However, due to licensing issues, the character of Reynolds in Deadpool is confined to the X-Men based film of Fox Studios.

The whole scenario could change though with Disney’s decision to buy 21st Century Fox for around $52.4 billion dollars. If the deal goes through, the rights to both Deadpool as well as Avengers would belong to Marvel Cinematic Universe, a Disney-owned enterprise.

Reynold’s Tweet on Sunday wasn’t the first time that Reynolds has praised a superhero movie. For instance, when Gal Gadot starring Wonder Women beat the record of Deadpool at the domestic box office, there were words of praise from Ryan for his fellow superhero.

In the light of his history of spreading love, it might not be wrong for Reynolds, therefore, to expect his fellow stars return the favor upon the release of Deadpool 2 later next month.

The images were taken by the Kensington Palace photographer at the time when the baby was leaving the hospital with his mum and dad, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Kensington Palace has released the images of the newest member of the Royal Family, the son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

While the name of the baby hasn’t been released yet, live footage has shown him leaving the hospital with his mum and dad. While leaving the hospital, Kate looked amazing for a woman who had just undergone labor.

As for Prince Williams, he was in a jolly mode leaving the hospital, as he joked with the gathered journalists saying that both he and his wife had ‘’three times the trouble now”.

Prince Williams also brought to the hospital his four-year-old son George and two-year-old daughter Charlotte. Of the two Charlotte ((Charlotte Elizabeth Diana) was especially in a jovial mood, as she waved to the cameras just as she was entering the hospital with her brother and father.

Both the younger members of the Royal Family met with their little brother earlier today, and it is assumed that all five family members will reunite at home in the Kensington Palace later today.

Announcing the news of the arrival of the newest member of the Royal Family, Kensington Palace wrote on Twitter:

‘’ Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

Kate went into labor at the St Mary’s Hospitals in the early hours of the morning, only a short time before the good news arrived.

Though the baby’s name hasn’t been made official, bookies claim that his name will be Arthur. He is the sixth great-grandchild of the Queen and is fifth-in-line to the throne.

In a shocking revelation of the scope of drug epidemic in educational campuses, a report claims that out of every five students, two are drug users. It further highlights that at the time that the study was carried out, 39% students said that they were using drugs.

The report, which took the opinion of around 2,800 students from different campuses across the country, is prepared by National Union of Students. It was founded in 1992 and is a confederation of around 600 student unions in the UK.

In addition to NUS, Release, a charity which is known for its work on drugs and drugs law, also corroborated in the preparation of the report.

According to the report, while drug use is a common behavior among students, it is infrequent. For, at the time of the study, while 56% students claimed that they had used drugs at some time in their life, 39% claimed of using drugs at that time.

As for the drugs which are most common among students, the NUS report finds cannabis to be used the most, followed by the likes of ecstasy, nitrous oxide, and cocaine.

It shuts down the myth the students only use drugs for recreational purposes, with a small number of students claiming that they use ‘’study drugs’’, those which allow them to concentrate better during the exam season.

Stress and Mental Health

Even before this report came out, a large number of charities had warned authorities that mental health problems are affecting the well-being of students.

This report describes drug use in the same vein, with almost a third of students who use drug citing the reduction of stress as the reason, though another third claimed that their mental health deteriorated after using drugs.

Apart from highlighting the problem, the report also suggests the cure: universities providing advice to their students regarding drug use.

It states that in 2017, more than 2,000 incidents were reported by universities of their students’ having possession of drugs. Out of these, only a quarter were reported to the police.

However, the report states that ‘’these punitive measures rarely help’’, with the advice that universities should focus more on drug education and health advice.

A woman ambushed and killed her husband’s lover before turning the gun on herself on Monday in Pennsylvania, police say.

Jennair Gerardot, 48, came up with a plan of revenge when she came to know that her husband was cheating on her. Her plan would stun a quiet Pennsylvania town as it involved a murder and a suicide, authorities confirmed Tuesday.

The victim was Meredith Chapman, a 33-year-old ex-political candidate who was also the Republican nominee for the state senate of Delaware in 2016. She was having an affair with Gerardot’s husband, police said.

Both the victim as well as the murderer had a lot of things in common. Both were highly successful ladies who belonged to the professional elite of Delaware area. Miss Chapman knew Gerardot’s husband from her time at the University of Delaware where she worked with him.

Once she found out the affair, police says, Gerardot starting plotting a calculated attack. William Colarulo, the Superintendent of Radnor Township police said in a news conference that her plotting involved a lot of emails and text messages.

On Monday, the day on which Gerardot had planned his attack, she took a train from Delaware which will take him to Radnor, a quiet residential neighborhood in Pennsylvania where Chapman was living in her home.

Gerardot was wearing a wig to make sure nobody recognized her, said Lt. Christopher Flanagan of Radnor Township Police.

After breaking through the front door of Chapman, Gerardot laid low with her .357 Taurus Tracker revolver. She shot Chapman the moment she walked through the door.

Then, according to the police, Gerardot took her own life by turning the gun on herself.

Police came to know about the incident when repeated calls went to 911. However, when it arrived on the scene, both the women were lying dead near Chapman’s kitchen.

Outside the death scene, police met the man whose life brought the two women together, Mark Gerardot. He and Chapman were supposed to meet for dinner, however, when she didn’t show up, he got concerned and came looking for her to her house.

In addition to stunning her residential neighborhood, Chapman’s death has also shocked political, higher education, and marketing worlds in the Delaware area, as she was a known figure in all these realms.

After starting her career as a broadcast journalist, Chapman went on to work as a communications manager for Rep. Michael N. Castle on the Capitol Hill. Afterward, she served as the senior marketing director at the University of Delaware, while also teaching undergrad and MBA students.

At the time of her death, she was married to Luke Chapman, a City Council’s former member in Newark, Delaware. However, according to the police, she had only recently moved into her new residence in Radnor and wasn’t living with her husband any longer.

In addition to showing increased user trust in Facebook, the recent quarterly report also showed how Facebook’s expansion into mobile has helped it garner more revenues.

Of the total ad revenue that Facebook generated in the first quarter, mobile ad revenue contributed a huge 91%, a 48% headcount increase from last year.

While it’s still early, the report released Wednesday showed that Facebook is still the go-to platform as far as advertisers are concerned. For instance, ad revenue of Facebook has increased by a massive 50 percent in just over 12 months.

Similar is the case with average revenue per user. While analysts expected that it would remain close to $5.35, the average revenue per user hit an all-time high figure of $5.53 as per the report.

Perhaps the most important metric which the recent quarterly report revealed was the number of users who are currently using Facebook. When compared with last year, Facebook’s usership has increased by 13 percent, another sign that users aren’t ditching Facebook over its numerous scandals.

You know what’s common between Forrest Gump and his real-life version, Rob Pope? You guessed it: both of them like running a lot.

He might belong to Liverpool and not to Greenbow Alabama, but Rob Pope – a.k.a. the real-life Forrest Gump – has everything else in common with his Hollywood counterpart.

We came to know about Rob Pope after he decided to run in the London Marathon, an annual event in which runners partake to raise funds for their favorite charities. While he was doing that, Rob did something special which attracted our attention; he ran the race dressed as Forrest Gump.

Ahead of running in the marathon,  Rob – with a huge Forrest Gump style beard – tweeted: “Never ever ever stop!!! More carbs! So hyperactive!!”

With no disrespect to London Marathon, it is actually a jog for Rob, and a light one at that given what he has been doing of late. For instance, it was only a few months ago that Rob completed the route which Forrest Gump was shown taking on during the movie. It means that he ran more than 15,000 miles.

In fact, at the cost of sounding too technical, we have to say that he ran 15,348 miles, for it seemed wrong to us to rob someone of their 348 miles. After all, it is still a considerable running distance.

What’s more, it took Rob 13 months – or 409 days to be precise – to run a distance which is equivalent to 509 London marathons. And in case you are wondering, he is the first person who has taken on the route and went on to complete it.

That he spends a good portion of his life on the road doesn’t mean that Rob doesn’t have a day job, for he works as a veterinarian whenever he isn’t running, which means not most of the time.

Judging by the days he remains away from the office, it seems to us that even his employers are fans of Rob who wanted to see him fulfilling his life’s dream. Otherwise, which employer in their right mind gives their workers a 1-year leave?

As you might expect, his journey – or whatever you call it – wasn’t void of injuries. Rob says that he suffered from exhaustion, Achilles tendon infection and muscular tears.

Add food poisoning to the list, which Rob claims he suffered during his journey, and Rob’s efforts earn him the title of the real-life Forrest Gump.

The jibes were taken in a pitch which the creators of ‘’Family Guy’’ mailed to Emmy voters earlier this week.

The creators of ‘’Family Guy’’ have used a pitch mailed exclusively to Emmy voters to take the mickey out of Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey. The pitch contains a reference to the ‘’Family Guy’’ predictions from yesteryear in which he predicted both the Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein scandals.

The card, which is sent to Emmy voters, has a front note which reads: “We predicted Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein. Open DVD to see who’s next.’’ Once you open it, a mirror is placed inside the letter, reflecting every Emmy voter’s face and jokingly making them a suspect.

The reference which the ‘’Family Guy’’ creators have talked about in their recent letter dates back to Season 4 of ‘’Family Guy’’. Though it was aired in 2005, the scene resurfaced in 2017 in the wake of sexual harassment scandals which rocked the entertainment industry.

In the scene which is posted above, baby Stewie is shown running naked across a shopping mall while screaming, ‘’ “Help! I’ve escaped from Kevin Spacey’s basement!”

The clip circulated on social media immediately after Spacey apologized to Anthony Rapp, the Star Trek actor who accused Spacey of making sexual advances towards him when Rapp was 14.

Explaining the idea behind the scene, Seth MacFarlane, the creator of ‘’Family Guy’’ acknowledges that he doesn’t remember who pitched the idea to him.

He said that at the time the idea was pitched to him, he was the only guy among the writers’ team of ‘’Family Guy’’ who had not heard rumors about the sexual misconduct of Kevin Spacey.

As for Harvey Weinstein, his sexual misconduct was highlighted by Seth MacFarlane while he was announcing the 2013 Oscar nominations for the Best Supporting Actress.

After he had read the names, MacFarlane told the nominees that they deserve congratulations as they no longer had to pretend to ‘’be attracted to Harvey Weinstein’’.

After Disappointing With ‘’I Feel Pretty’’, What Next For Amy Schumer

Of the three movies in which Amy has played the leading role, her latest ‘’I Feel Pretty’’ had the worst opening week at the Box office and reviews from critics aren’t good either.

What next for Amy Schumer? It is a question which both critics and fans of Amy are asking after an underwhelming performance of ‘’I Feel Pretty’’ at the box office.

‘’I Feel Pretty”, which is the third film of the stand-up comedian, garnered a soft $16 million on its first weekend. It is not exactly a disaster, but, compare it with her two movies, and you suspect that it is.

Amy Schumer’s first starring role was in ‘’Trainwreck’’, a 2015 hit in which she debuted alongside Bill Hader. Directed by Judd Apatow, the film collected a handsome $30 million on its first weekend, before bowing out with an impressive lifetime collection of $110 million.

That was an impressive tally, considering the fact that it was only her first movie. Also, the incisive rom-com genre on which the movie was based had struggled to live up to the hype years of Julia Roberts and Meg Ryan, though the film still did well at Box office.

However, some critics are of the view that it was her previous career – both as a stand-up comedian as well as in Comedy Central – and NOT her acting which gave ‘’Trainwreck’’ the nudge it needed to succeed.

After all, it was the first time that Amy had transitioned from silverscreen to tackle the big one, so her audiences were eager to see how she coped with the transition.

As famous a hit ‘’Trainwreck’’ was, it set a difficult precedent for Amy to follow. Her next leading role, which she played in 2017’s ‘’Snatched’’, opened with an encouraging $19 million before wrapping up for less than $45 million.

So, in the light of these two films, it was probably crucial for her film career that Amy Schumer delivered in ‘’I Feel Pretty’’. Unfortunately, she didn’t. While Rotten Tomatoes has given her a 34% rating, IMDB has settled on 3.7 stars.

That said, as bad as the experience of ‘’I Feel Pretty’’ has been for Amy, it could have been worse. When she was acting in ‘’I Feel Pretty’’, Amy was approached by Sony for a similar role in ‘’Barbie’’, which she declined due to scheduling conflicts.

‘’Barbie’’ had the same theme of body acceptance as ‘’I Feel Pretty’’, and as the audience’s response to the latter has shown, an Amy Schumer starring ‘’Barbie’’ might have bombed at the Box office, too.

Still, Amy still has something to look forward to. For, while both her last two movies were underwhelming, they had one more thing in common: Amy didn’t write them.

But when we look at her career as a stand-up comedian, we see that Amy Schumer works best when she delivers her own written punch lines. In the light of these facts, therefore, we could say with confidence that Amy Schumer’s movies would be better if she is given a bigger role in their screenplays.

Giving his viewpoint on the sexual harassment claims which has rocked Hollywood, ‘’Game of Thrones’’ actor Kit Harrington has claimed ‘’it is everywhere’’. The 31-year-old British actor opened up on this topic while giving an interview to Sydney Morning Herald.

In the interview, Harrington revealed that the tremors of Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey scandal weren’t limited to Hollywood. Instead, he claimed that the British industry felt the jolts as well.

“Within British theatre, there’s been a problem for many years. This is something that has been going on forever, and not just in the States. It’s everywhere.”

In addition to claiming that the sexual harassment problem is ubiquitous, Harrington also revealed that the majority of actors are aware of similar cases. And he pointed the British theatre industry in particular while talking about sexual harassment.

So, should we take it as a hint that the British theatre is also prone to such incidents? After all, it is an open secret that Harrington started his career from a theatre. The first acting role awarded to him was that of Albert in the drama ‘’War of Horse’’ in the National Theatre.

Explaining his earlier statement, he told Sydney Morning Herald, “It’s upsetting and disturbing, but it’s not shocking. I think most actors hear stories, and people in the industry hear stories.

It’s just very hard for people to come out and talk about it. But the doors have been blown open a bit, and we can only be thankful for that.”

Kit Harrington in HBO’s ‘’Gunpowder’’

Harrington had originally sat with the Sydney Morning Herald to discuss his role in “Gunpowder”, a new historical thriller on HBO. In addition to acting, Harrington is also producing the show.

‘’Gunpowder’’ is a three-part miniseries which revolves around the famous Gunpowder plot of 1605. It was a failed scheme on the part of Roman Catholic militants to blow up London’s House of Lords. The militants also schemed to assassinate King James 1, a Protestant, as well as many others.

That attack failed to transpire, and to celebrate its foiling, King James 1 announced a holiday on November 5, the same day on which the attackers had planned to assassinate him.

Over the years, November 5 has evolved into Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire night, to remember the conspirator whose discovery the night before foiled the plan.

‘Westworld’ Season 2 Review: Robotic Revolution Is Here

‘’Westworld’’ was billed as the eventual successor of Game of Thrones upon its release in 2016. ‘’Journey Into Night’’, the Season 2 Premiere, has upheld that reputation.

Just as the finale of Season 1 had revealed, the Season 2 of ‘’Westworld’’ starts with a bang; female-led robots on a killing spree. And their first victim? Their creator Dr. Robert Ford.

The Killing won’t stop there. Every part of the park – be it the tourist areas or the subterranean control rooms – is littered with bodies. And there are no prizes for guessing that the bodies are of humans; both the creators of robots as well as the tourists.

Put more crudely, the robots have now achieved consciousness. They are also free from their programmed narratives which forced them to entertain sadistic visitors in the past. As a result, Dolores (the farm girl) and Maeve (brothel madam) are taking the battle to human beings.

Summing up the season in a one-liner, Maeve, who is finding her lost digital daughter, proclaims “I’ve found a new voice, now I use it.”

The tremors are felt on the other side of the corporate table as well. Following the death of Hopkins in the climactic episode of last season, Charlotte Hale has stepped in to fill the void, both digital and real. Now she is grappling with the challenge of how to contain (or quell) the robotic uprising.

If that doesn’t get you excited about the Season 2, God knows what will. And it is not only the storyline which makes Westworld 2.0 special, for the work of Cinematographer Darren Tiernan and production designer Howard Cummings also deserves a shout out.

Their work has turned Westworld Season 2 into one of the most impressive, best looking, and textured series which has graced the small screen over the last few years.

On the side of storytelling, both Jeffrey Wright and Lee Sizemore have weaved certain subplots which you just can’t expect. So much appears right out of the blue that you don’t know what to expect next, in a good way, that is.

Hence, with the revolution of the robots, the intrigue of big business, and the curt one-liners about knife fights and guns, Westworld Season 2 promises to be a belter. And in doing so, it has gone beyond even the wildest electric dreams of its followers.

Beyoncé Falls While Trying To Pick Up Solange during Coachella

Just a week after making history with her Coachella performance, Beyoncé once again broke the Internet, though not with the news she may have wanted.

Well, they are like us, at least once in their lives.

To cap off her historic two-week performances at Coachella, Beyoncé invited her sister Solange to share the stage with her over the weekend. However, just as she was trying to pick her sister up, Bey accidentally dropped Solange and tripped over herself.

Luckily, none of them received any injury as suggested by the giggles which they shared while rolling on the stage. Once back on their feet, Beyoncé chanted to the audience: “Give it up for my sister!”

While the sister duo tried to showcase that the blip was part of the plan – as they jumped up and laughed simultaneously – people on social media still took notice.

The sister act was rumored to go as follows: Beyoncé invites Solange to stage, picks her up, both of them perform a repeat of last weekend’s ‘’Get Me Bodied”, and Solange goes back to the audience. Except that a drop occurred, and what was supposed to be a choreographed performance ended up lightening the mood of the audience.

In addition to the hiccup, there were quite a lot of changes in Beyoncé’s set from last weekend. For instance, gone were the yellow sweatshirts which she wore last week, replaced by their pink counterparts. Destiny’s Child also ditched the camouflage outfit which they donned last weekend in favor of glittery white numbers.

Also, while Beyoncé played “Mi Gente’’ alone last weekend, she was joined by Colombian singer J Balvin to do the same this time around.

The blip was a minor hiccup in what were two weeks of highly charged performances by Beyoncé at the Coachella festival in Calif, Indio.

Beyoncé became the first black women to head the Coachella festival last weekend. Her performance became the most-viewed live stream video of the festival in the history of YouTube. At its peak, Business Insider reports that the performance attracted a record 458,000 simultaneous viewers globally.

President Trump Considering Sylvester Stallone’s Plea to Pardon Jack Johnson

Jack Johnson, a boxer, was convicted by an all-white jury of accompanying a white woman across the state lines in 1913.

President Donald Trump informed Saturday on his Twitter account that he is considering granting a full posthumous pardon to boxer Jack Johnson after actor Sylvester Stallone pleaded him to do the same.

“Sylvester Stallone called me with the story of heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson. His trials and tribulations were great, his life complex and controversial,” Trump tweeted. “Others have looked at this over the years, most thought it would be done, but yes, I am considering a Full Pardon!’’

Though he is the most recent figure who has come out in the support of late Jack Johnson, Stallone is by no means the only one.

For, in 2016, then Senator John McCain and Senator Harry Reid, along with Reps. Gregory Meeks and Peter King petitioned the Obama administration to grant a posthumous pardon to Johnson. They demanded the pardon in a letter sent to the White House asking that the President honor the 70th death anniversary of the boxer by pardoning him.

Then, in March 2017, Senator Corry Booker joined the likes of McCain, Meeks, and King to urge President Donald Trump to pardon Johnson.

Who was Jack Johnson?

Jack Johnson was the first African-American to hold the honor of being the world heavyweight boxing champion. He was convicted in 1913 under ‘’the Mann Act’’ which, at least on paper, prohibited the transportation across state lines of women and girls for immoral purposes.

However, while its purpose was to prevent human trafficking, the critics of ‘’The Mann Act’’ have argued that it was used to criminalize African Americans or those who had dissenting political views. While the act has never been repealed, its severity has been decreased with alterations and amendments.

To further their viewpoint that the Mann act was discriminating, critics point to the case of Jack Johnson. Despite being a well-known figure, an all-white jury convicted Johnson in less than two hours, before sending him to prison for a year.

So severe were the repercussions of the act for the ‘’Galveston Giant’’ that his career never recovered from it. He died in 1946 with the stigma attached to his achievements.

Police Rules out Criminal Suspicion in Avicii’s Death

Artist, Producer, and DJ Tim Bergling, a.k.a. Avicii was found dead at a resort in Muscat, Oman last Friday.

According to reports coming from various media outlets, unnamed sources with the Oman Police department have confirmed that they have ‘’no criminal suspicion’’ in the death of the Swedish DJ and producer Avicii.

The 28-year-old Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead at a resort in Muscat, the capital of Oman, on 28th April.  His body will be flown from Oman back to Sweden next week.

“Two autopsies were carried out, one yesterday and one today and we absolutely confirmed that there is no criminal suspicion in the death,” a source with the Royal Police of Oman told news agency AFP.

The tragic passing away of Avicii led to a wave of sorrow and grief back in his native country. Thousands of his fans descended on central Stockholm after hearing the news of his death.

Life of Avicii

Avicii first came into the spotlight when his 2011 single ‘’Levels’’ went hit on the music scene. He was a great example of the dance music DJs who achieved the same level of prominence as their pop-star counterparts. Till date, his songs have attracted more than a billion listeners on Spotify.

The best-known song of Avicii was his 2012 ‘’Wake Me Up’’ which reached the No.4 position on the Hot 100 chart of Billboard. Avicii was also nominated for two Grammys in the best dance recording category, in 2012 and 2013.

Apart from recording music on his own, Avicii was also a well-known music producer throughout the world. So popular was his music that he produced music for the likes of Coldplay and Madonna, due to which he became one of the best-paid DJs in the world.

In 2015, for instance, Forbes released a list of the best-paid DJs in the world, in which Avicii was ranked as the six highest grosser. He earned an estimated $19 million during the same year.

However, during the time that his career was scaling new heights, Avicii was also fighting with health scares. For, in 2011, he was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and he had his appendix and gallbladder removed in 2016.

Avicii is survived by his parents; his brothers, Anton Korberg and David Bergling, and his sister, Linda Sterner.

She might have sent shockwaves with her Coachella performance on Saturday, but Beyoncé had her mom worried about how the white audience would perceive the show.

On Saturday, Beyoncé became the first woman to headline the Coachella music festival in Indio, California. While other hit names, like Eminem, were also in attendance, it was her performances which stole the show.

However, that might not have happened had she listened to her mother, who believed that since Beyoncé would be adopting the black culture, her white audience won’t get it.

“I told Beyonce that I was afraid that the predominately white audience at Coachella would be confused by all of the black culture and black college culture because it was something that they might not get.” Tina Knowles Lawson, Beyoncé’s mother, wrote on her Instagram on Tuesday.

To her credit, Beyoncé’s mother then admitted that she was wrong with all her doubts, before saying, ‘’ “her brave response to me made me feel a bit selfish and ashamed’’.

‘’She said ‘I have worked very hard to get to the point where I have a true voice and at this point in my life and my career I have a responsibility to do what’s best for the world and not what is most popular.’’

‘’She said that her hope is that after the show young people would research this culture and see how cool it is, and young people black and white would listen to ‘LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING’ and see how amazing the words are for us all and bridge the gap.”

In addition to admitting that she was wrong, Lawson also gave the reason why Beyoncé announced $100,000 in scholarships to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

‘’She also hopes that it will encourage young kids to enroll in our amazing Historically Black Colleges and Universities’’.

Beyoncé Making History

According to Business Insider, Beyoncé’s Coachella performance became the most-viewed live stream video of the festival in the history of YouTube. At its peak, her performance attracted 458,000 simultaneous global viewers. She also made history by becoming the first black woman to head Coachella.

In addition to YouTube, so popular was her Coachella set that the hashtag ‘’#Beychella” remained trending on Twitter even hours after her performance.

Her performance at the Coachella festival came exactly a year after he had to cancel his performance at the same set due to her pregnancy.
