Following his Best Picture fiasco from last year, Jimmy Kimmel was at his hosting best yet again at this year’s Oscars. By deftly managing the plethora of political controversies which have stunned Hollywood over the past year or so, Kimmel used his charm and quick wit to enamor the audience.

In honor of the Hollywood’s most glorious night of the year, let’s turn our attention to some of the best and the weirdest moments of Oscars 2018 …

The Best

Since this year was the milestone anniversary of the Oscars, Kimmel borrowed an idea from the 1940s retro newsreel to kick start the show. The whole intro was shot in black and white for the TV audience, with Kimmel also using Lupita Nyongo’s’s Kenyan lineage to criticize the President.

Premiere of ‘Heathers’ to be delayed Following Florida Shooting

The Paramount Network has recently announced that it is pushing back the planned release of the series in the respect of the victims of the Parkland School Shooting.

Paramount Network, the production house behind the ‘’Heathers’’ TV series, has announced that it has put the premiere on hold in respect of the Florida Parkland School shooting victims.

The TV series, which is going to remake the 80s’ film by the same name, was originally scheduled to premiere on March 7, but Paramount Net has now announced that the channel has decided to delay the show in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The network issued a statement on Wednesday:

“While we stand firmly behind the show, in light of the recent tragic events in Florida and out of respect for the victims, their families and loved ones, we feel the right thing to do is delay the premiere until later this year.” A new Premiere date is yet to be announced.

According to a network outsider, it was the ongoing violence about gun schools which has dominated the American discourse and NOT the mixed reviews which the remake has received which forced Paramount to delay the timing.

Furthermore, the news has come just a day after Paramount Network released its ratings. The network noted that when compared with Spike TV ratings, its January primetime ratings among adults (19-49) were up by almost 50 percent.

‘Heathers’ isn’t the only drama which has decided to delay its premiere in the wake of the Florida School shooting. For, in July 2016 after a string of shootings rocked America, USA decided to pull the plug on the premiere of “Shooter’’.

As for ‘Heathers’, it draws inspiration from the 1989 film of the same name, which starred Ryder, Christian Slater, and Shannan Doherty. That movie addressed issues such as teen violence, suicide, and identity in high school.

‘Heathers’ would see Veronica Sawyer playing the role of Grace Victoria Cox, who enters a new school and becomes a part of Heathers, a popular clique in the 80s. The modern twist would see several students subjected to marginalization and bullying in high school. It is also speculated that in the fifth episode, there would also be disturbing scenes of School Shooting, which might be disturbing for some viewers.

Both the stars will perform together for the first time in the upcoming movie of Quentin Tarantino, which is titled ‘’Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’’.

The ninth and probably the penultimate film of Quentin Tarantino is gathering pace, with news today confirming not only the title and release date of the movie, but also the names of its star-studded cast: Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Sony Pictures, the studio which is producing the movie, describes ‘’Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’’ as a story that would be taking place in 1969 in Los Angeles, at a time when the hippy culture was at its epitome in the Hollywood.

While Leonardo DiCaprio would be playing the role of Rick Dalton – a former Western TV Series’ star, Brad Pitt would be acting in the movie as Cliff Booth, the longtime stunt double of Dalton.

In the movie, both would be showcased as strugglers in a Hollywood which they can’t recognize. But, as good-luck might have it, Rick finds out that his neighbor is none other than Sharon Tate.

Tate was an actress and model married to the now-disgraced director Roman Polanski and was murdered at her home by the Mansion Family members. It was previously reported that Charles Mansion would be a major focus in the movie.

This movie will mark the first time DiCaprio and Pitt have appeared together in a feature film, as they have appeared together in a Macau Casino advert, ‘The Audition’, which was directed by Martin Scorsese.

“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old,” said Tarantino in a statement. “I’m very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”

The subject matter of the movie is such that it is bound to attract controversy for Tarantino, a man who is not alien to getting himself roasted in the press. Recently, the director had to apologize in front of the process after Kill Bill Star Uma Thurman criticized his on-set behavior.

Back in October, Tarantino said he was ashamed that despite being aware of some of Harvey Weinstein’s abhorrent acts, he didn’t take a stand against him.

In recent weeks, Tarantino was forced to apologize to Samantha Geimer, the Polanski rape victim, after an interview tape in which he told Howard Stern that Samantha ‘wanted it’ appeared on social media.

Yondr, a San Francisco-based service which locks the phones of the concertgoers, is currently gaining traction among artists as they try to force the attention of the public back on the music.

Ask Jack White, and the last thing that he wants to see at his concerts – particularly when he is onstage, is scores of fans involved more with their phones than his music. Therefore, after pleading with fans on numerous occasions to put away their bad habit, he’s going hardcore.

In his upcoming spring tour which is already sold out, Jack White has turned to Yondr, a tech company which forces the concertgoers to keep their phones in their pouches. White says that the way his fans would react next would give him a clue on what to do next.

White’s spring tour, which would be starting from April 19th, would be the first full music tour which is going to hire Yondr, a service which only allows the attendees to use phones for emergency calls in designated ‘’phone zones’’.

Instead of forcing fans to keep their phones down during the concert, Yondr’s operating mechanism is unique. In the concert where it is employed, Yondr takes away the phones of the attendees, lock them in a pouch before giving them back.

Attendees are allowed to keep the pouch with them, however, they cannot open it inside the concert. If they feel a need to use their phone, attendees have to come outside the concert hall and tap it on a metal disk installed by Yondr in various places to unlock it.

The pouch might not be the latest technological innovation, but it’s working for a slew of artists, including Alicia Keys, Dave Chappelle, Louis C.K., and the Lumineers.

To every concert in which it is employed to moderate, Yondr charges $2 per every ticket price and provides its own staff. So popular has Yondr become that even Justin Timberlake employed it in a recent album-listening part of his own.

Still, despite the increasing popularity of Yondr, not everyone is enamored with it. Although promoters acknowledge the fact that phones flashing on their faces distract artists, they also contend that for pop stars who have young fans, smartphones are a crucial marketing tool.

However, when we look at the growing list of artists who are turning to Yondr to get the full attention of their fans, the San Francisco-based service is here to stay.

You might not believe it, but a drama which started with a loud fart when the plane was up in the air forced the pilot to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport.

When the Wright Brothers were busy adjusting the aerodynamics of the machine which would once travel from one continent to the other in a matter of hours, they might not have dreamed of the heights which modern aviation has now reached.

Seemingly impossible wonders like thousands of flights a day, in-flight beds and television, onboard Wi-Fi signals, and the guy who forced the pilot to make an emergency landing just because he wouldn’t stop farting.

News reports claim that a Transavia flight which was coming to Amsterdam from Dubai was forced to make a pit stop in Vienna after a fight broke out. And the reason for that fight? A person allegedly won’t stop farting, even when his fellow passengers asked him not to.

The incident started when a passenger apparently kept farting last weekend. Next to him were sitting two Dutchman who didn’t take very well his farting act. Consequently, they asked the man to stop his flatulence, however, the unashamed man refused to back off, and hold back his air.

When the two Dutchmen asked the crew to do something about it, it was less than sympathetic to their complaint. So furious became the fight that the pilot had to intervene, but even his mediation proved to be of little benefit.

Consequently, after numerous warnings to both sides to back down, the Pilot diverted the plane away from its route and towards the Vienna airport.

Following the altercation, two sisters and two men were forcibly removed by the Police which boarded the plane with dogs, on the Vienna airport.

Angry at the treatment they received, both the women are now suing Transavia, alleging that they didn’t have any hand in the disturbance and that their only ‘’fault’’ was sitting in the same row as the ‘’fart man’’ and his nemesis.

Still, all four passengers have now been banned from the low-budget Dutch airline, which claims that the girls were also involved in the fight.

The transgender wrestler, who was once barred from wrestling on the Boys’ team, has now won two Girls’ State wrestling titles in a row.

Boos and cheers were waiting to greet Mack Beggs, an 18-year-old transgender boy, as he defeated Chelsea Sanchez to retain his title as Texas’ girls’ state wrestling champion.

In the previous years, the Euless Trinity High School student has tried, and failed, in his effort to get permission to wrestle against other boys.

For, as per the rules of the Texas’ University of Interscholastic League, athletes are allowed only to compete under the gender which is written on their birth certificates. Consequently, Beggs, who doesn’t have any other option but to compete against girls, is wrestling and winning.

Saturday was the second time that Mack was able to take the girls’ Class 6A, 110-pound division gold medal home.

In a video footage of the game posted on Twitter, both boos and cheers can be heard as the referee holds up Beggs’ hand to declare him the winner for the second year running.

“I’ve trained too hard for haters to put me down. I’ve worked too hard for that,” he told the Star-Telegram after his victory.

Last season, fearing that Beggs might injure them in a match, two women wrestlers chose not to fight against him in the tournament. This season, there was one girl who forfeited her match against Beggs, despite opposing pleas from her teammates and coach.

One thing, however, which was similar for Beggs this season around was his title match and the chorus that surrounded it. The moment he beat Sanchez to retain his title, Beggs had to endure a ruckus of boos from the crowd.

It was six years from now that Beggs began to identify as male, after which he started his medical treatment to complete his physical transition. According to the Associated Press, he is currently taking low-doses of transition to complete his transition.

Beggs told the Morning News that he is going to undergo a ‘’top surgery’’ very soon to complete his transition, with a ‘’bottom surgery’’ to be performed afterward.

Her sister made the revelation in an interview in which she appeared to defend the odd behavior which his brother has displayed on Married At First Sight.

In case the behavior of Troy Delmege wasn’t awkward enough on the show, his sister has now made an even weird claim: that his brother is a 35-year-old virgin.

Troy, 35, has been consistently raising eyebrows ever since his first appearances on MAFS, during which he hit on the entire family of his bride, described the girl of his dreams as a “Barbie Cheerleader’’, brushed his teeth like a maniac, and taken down his marriage vows from a website.

Ever since his first appearance and even after making the abovementioned antics, Troy has not slowed down, with his bizarre antics going more out of the way with each passing week. So alienating his actions have been that while a large majority believes he is a paid actor on the show, his wife Ashley Irwin is greatly dismayed by Troy’s antics.

It is under these circumstances – and amid a furor over the behavior of his brother that Troy’s sister Tanya Delmege has come out and staunchly defended his brother, by accusing Ash, 28, of going after stardom.

“I think Ashley’s on [Married At First Sight] for different reasons than Troy. Troy feels like Ash definitely wants to be famous,” Tanya told NW.

At the start of this month, images surfaced on social media of Tray kissing another contestant, Carly Bowyer, in a park in Melbourne city.

When asked to comment on that matter – and whether her brother could end up constructing a happy future alongside Carly, Tanya lifted the lid on a not-so-insignificant detail about her brother’s life.

“[Carly and Troy] have some social differences … Troy’s very churchy actually and as far as I know he’s on the V-plates,” demurred Tanya, before going on to add that what Troy was waiting is for a real marriage, and not the reality-TV drama found on the dating show.

“The view of my family is that they need to overcome their social differences, which are very significant.”

During the latest show of MAFS, both Ashley and Troy decided that the wanted the marriage to continue. It was a huge surprise for the viewers considering the fact that their marriage is passing through torrid times and the fact that Ashley looks to abhor Troy.

Heather Locklear Arrested: Domestic Violence, Battery on Police Officer

The ‘Spin City’ alum, who was making a guest-appearance in TLC drama ‘’Too Close to Home’’, is not a stranger when it comes to getting in trouble with the law.

Actress Heather Locklear, 56, was arrested in Thousand Oaks California on Saturday on suspicion of felony domestic violence, revealed the Sheriff Office of the Ventura County.

The Sheriff Spokesman, Capt. Garo Kuredjian said that at approximately 10 p.m., police deputies on duty received a report regarding a domestic dispute ongoing at that time at the 4900 Block of Summit View Drive.

On receiving the report, the deputies tried to contact the 56-year-old actress, but she was completely uncooperative towards their investigation, as per Kuredjian. He further stated that the police have visible evidence that before her arrest, Locklear had committed the offense of felony by battering her boyfriend.

Authorities refused to release the details of the boyfriend who made the call to the police.

In addition to being uncooperative with the police, the police says, Locklear was also combative towards them. “She was kicking at and pushing our deputies,” Kuredjian was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

After being arrested at her house, Police took Locklear to the local hospital, and only after she declared fit did the police booked Locklear into the Ventura County jail.

The veteran actress was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence as well as three counts of battery against a serving police offer, said Dean Cook, sheriff’s Captain.

However, after submitting a bond, Locklear was released around 6 a.m. Monday morning, but she has to appear in the court on March the 13th.

This is not the first time that Locklear is finding herself on the wrong side of the law. Last September, Locklear sustained moderate injuries after involving herself in a vehicle crash in Thousand Oaks.

Apart from her famous role in Spin City, Locklear is also recognized for her part in the TV program Melrose Place.

Bud Luckey: Designer of Woody from ‘Toy Story’ Has Died

The animator, who was nominated for the Oscars for directing the 2004 Animated Short film Boundin’, also designed characters for Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, and Cars among other animated movies.

Bud Luckey, the man who introduced the world to Woody from Toy Story, has died in Newtown, Connecticut, his son has confirmed.

Luckey was born in Billings, Montana in 1934, Luckey was best known for his work at Pixar as an animator who worked as the character designer for Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and Cars among other movies.

Apart from designing characters, Luckey also lent them their voice in several animated films. He provided a voice to characters including Rick Dicker in The Incredibles, Chuckles the Clown in Toy Story 3, and Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh movie.

Early in his career, Luckey created songs and cartons alongside lyricist Donald Hadley for Sesame Street. One of the most famous songs that came out of their combination included ‘’The Lady Bug Picnic’’.

He’ll be deeply missed by his friends, family and colleagues to whom he was just ‘Bud’,” Andy Luckey, Bud’s son, wrote on Facebook. “His kind and easy going demeanor led his Pixar colleagues to dub him ‘Bud Low-Key.’”

Not many people know that Bud’s first job in his life was in the U.S. Airforce, which he served during the Korean War. Back from the war, he went to attend Chouinard Art Institute – which would later become the California Institute of Arts.

So brilliant was his performance during the studies that Luckey went on to become a Disney scholar, after which he received training in professional animation at the University of South Carolina. Once graduated, Luckey worked under Art Babbitt – another of Disney’s veteran animators, as his assistant for some time.

Still, while his abovementioned works kept Luckey occupied, the present generation came to know about Luckey and his animations only after he joined Pixar in 1990.

On joining the animation company as a storyboard artist, animator and a character designer, Luckey’s first project under Pixar was Woody from Toy Story. Originally, the cowboy was to be a ventriloquist’s dummy, but it was only after Luckey took the charge that he turned Woody into a talking doll.

As expected, his death has left scores of his fans and friends in grief, with a large number of them taking to Twitter to express their sadness.

If early reactions to the test screening of Aquaman could give us any clue, the comic adaptation has all the necessary ingredients to put Justice League and Wonder Woman to shame.

Despite the fact that director James Wan hasn’t still confirmed the release date of the first trailer of Aquaman, those who have watched an early test screening of the movie are nothing but gushing in their praise of the comic adaptation.

According to a report which has been picked up by various media outlets, Warner Bros. decided to test the waters by showing the film to a select number of people on its studio to gauge how common public would respond to the movie.

And though his name wasn’t on the invitee list, The Tracking Board editor Umberto Gonzalez has claimed that he has heard from the invitees that the ‘’movie was great’’. He further claimed that the movie would be a turning point for the DC Extended Universe.

Two more sources, who were quoted by Batman-News, claimed that the ‘’loved’’ the movie, and that although there’s ‘’tons of action’’ in the movie as expected, it is also ‘’very emotional’’ as well.

Before the movie was screened for the select audience, it was surmised that it could be an ‘’underwater version of Star Wars’’.

Aquaman would start from where Justice League ended, with Arthur Carry, as the King of Atlantis, charting his way forward.

Arthur is expected to not only build his relationship with Mera, but also to deal with his Atlantean Heritage, and her father, the King Nereus of Xebel.

If that wasn’t enough to make his life difficult, Aquaman would also have to keep a close check – not only on his opponent Black Manta who wants to sit on his throne, but also on his traitorous brother, Orm.

However, while the positive reviews of the early screenings should provide relief to the fans, one thing which they would do well to remember is that all ‘’Suicide Squad’’, ‘’Justice League’’, and ‘’Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice’’ received rave reviews at their test screenings, only to bomb at the Box Office.

Aquaman would be released worldwide in theaters on December the 21st of this year.

‘Walking Dead’ Season 8 Midseason Premiere Recap

Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t already seen ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 midseason Premiere – which is titled ‘’Honor’’, this article contains spoilers about the same.

In what promises to be one hell of an opening to the second half of Season 8 of the ‘’Walking Dead’’, its midseason premiere started with the death of an actor who has been a part of the show since its inception in 2010.

And that character is Carl Grimes, the same performer who revealed in the climactic moments of the first half of the season that a walker had bitten him. During the midseason Premiere, Carl could clearly be seen saying goodbyes to not only his father but also to the group which had adopted him as a part of their surrogate family.

At the start of the premier, we are shown that Carl has been bitten by a walker, however, what he does next stuns the audience.

Instead of wailing and crying, Carl immediately helps a traveler named Siddiq hide in the sewers underneath Alexandria. He could be seen spending the rest of his time writing goodbye letters to his friends and spending time with Judith, his little sister in the show.

Chandler Riggs, the star who is playing the role of Carl in the TV series, has spoken out on what the impact of Carl’s death will be on the rest of the show.

“His death leaves behind a really inspiring and motivational feeling,” Riggs told Variety. “He’s not really angry about it. He’s not lashing out against anyone. So it’s him trying to show Rick every lesson that he’s learned over the last few years.”

As he comes to know that Carl’s death is imminent, Daryl showers Carl with praise for ensuring the safety of the citizens of Alexandria back at the time when Negan attacked. Carl, meanwhile, encourages his little sister Judith by giving her his monumental sheriff hat.

In addition to showcasing Carl’s death, the episode shows both Morgan and Carol traveling to the Kingdom to release Ezekiel from the control of the Saviors. At the same time, Ezekiel is being told by lieutenant Gavin that his betrayal will get him killed by Negan.

Meanwhile, both Carol and Morgan kill the Savior Guards at a lightning pace, before ambushing Gavin and reaching out to Ezekiel in his throne room. Afterwards, as Morgan decides to kill Gavin – and Carol and Ezekiel tries to stop him, one of the kingdom’s residents named Harry kills Gavin by driving a staff through his neck.

The final scene of the episode showcases both Michonne and Rick consoling Carl as they say their goodbyes.

Since its inception in the year 1987, the South by Southwest festival brings together stars from film, interactive media, and music in conferences that take place every March in Austin, Texas.

The 2018 South by Southwest festival (SXSW) and the conference will host panels, screenings, a special theme park, happy hours and more. The event will take place between March 9 and 18 in Austin, Texas. To keep our readers up to date, Fofy has created a list of the events which are expected to keep the audience spellbound in the designated days.

March 9 – 11 (Friday – Sunday)

Westworld: Live Without Limits Weekend

Between March 9 and 11 – in what the organizers of the festival have dubbed as a ‘’Live without Limits weekend,’’ the audiences would be treated to a ‘Westworld’’ theme park in the festival. The tableau would include refurbished sets from a host of HBO Series’, including Mariposa Saloon. For guests who are willing to attend the event, they would first have to register at discoverwestworld.com before checking in at the festival.

Apart from the series co-creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, cast members Thandie Newton, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, and Jeffrey Wright would be at the festival to discuss details of the new season on March 10, between 3:30 and 4:30, inside Room D of the Austin Convention Center.

Karla Souza Alleges She Was Raped by A Director in Mexico

The actress, famed for her performances in ABC’s ‘’How to Get Away with Murder,’’ alleged that she was raped by a director back in her native country at the start of her career.

Karla Souza has claimed that a director raped her at the start of her career in Mexico. Still, despite revealing that she was subjected to sexual assault, the ‘’How to Get Away with Murder’’ star refused to disclose the name.

The 32-year-old star revealed the details of the shocking incident for the first time while giving an interview CNN en Español on Tuesday. Teary-eyed, she told her host Carmen Aristegui the incident happened when she was on a shoot back in her native country.

Souza explained that at first, she chose to repulse the sexual advances of the unnamed director. Later on, and after a month of the advances of the director and what Souza claims as his ‘total abuse of power’, she felt that she had no other option but to ‘give in.’

‘[I let him] kiss me, to touch me in ways I did not want him to touch me and in one of those instances, he attacked me violently and yes, he raped me.’

She further revealed that the incident happened when she had just started her career. She was living in a hotel where none of her fellow cast mates were residing, and that only she and the director had rooms in that hotel.

‘He knocked at my door saying he wanted to go over some scenes and I thought it’s 2 am, it’s not appropriate and it’s something that shouldn’t be happening,’ Souza said.

She alleges that after being repulsed the first time, the director came back but she once again refused to let him in the door.

However, Souza claims, the decision to not open the door had repercussions beyond her wildest imaginations. The next day when she went back to the set, the director suddenly started to humiliate her for no reason, and in the company of her cast mates. Souza alleges that it was that psychological control which the director enjoyed over her which forced her to give in.

This revelation has come at a time when Hollywood has been rocked by months of accusations of harassment and sexual assault, resulting in the rise of #TimesUp and #MeToo movements.

Souza is an experienced actress who has been working on television since her childhood. Her first role on TV came in 1993 when she appeared as a child performer in Aspen Extreme.

Since 2014, and after years of appearing in Spanish-language movies, she has starred alongside Viola Davis in ABC’s ‘’How to Get Away with Murder’’.

‘’The Shape of Water’’ and ‘’I, Tonya’’ took home some of the best awards at the Costume Designers Guild Awards (2018) held in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday night.

Showing their support for the Time’s Up movement – a phenomenon which started at the Golden Globes and continued at the Oscars, most of the nominees attending the Designer Guild Awards wore black to show solidarity with the movement.

Among those honored were included the likes of Kerry Washington and Guillermo Del Toro, both of whom won the Distinguished Collaborator and the Spotlight award, respectively.

John Mohlo, the Oscar-winning costume designer who is famous for his designs in the “Gandhi’’ and ‘’Star Wars’’ series, was posthumously included in the Hall of Fame of the Costume Designers Guild.

While it was Jennifer Johnson who won the excellence in contemporary film category award for his work in ‘’I, Tonya’’, other nominees included Arianne Phillips for “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” Nadine Haders for “Get Out,” and April Napier alongside Melissa Toth for “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”

The award for excellence in the period film category went to Luis Sequeira for “The Shape of Water”, leaving behind the likes of Ellen Mirojnick for “The Greatest Showman,” Jeffrey Kurland for “Dunkirk,” Mark Bridges for “Phantom Thread,“ and ” Alexandra Byrne for “Murder on the Orient Express.”

For the excellence in contemporary television for designs category, Ane Crabtree was declared as the winner for her designs in “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Jean Petrie got the excellence in period television category award for her effort in ‘’The Crown,’’ and for sci-fi fantasy designs – it was Michele Clapton who was honored for her work in ‘’Game of Thrones’’.

They Are ‘Actors’: Florida House Aide Fired After Ridiculous High School Shooting Claim

The staffer, who was the district secretary of Rep. Shawn Harrison from Tampa Bay, had earlier sent an Email to a local news outfit claiming that two of the victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting were ‘actors’.

An aide of one of the Florida Legislators was fired on Tuesday evening after saying that two survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting were not students, as they were ‘’actors that travel to various cities when shootings happen’’.

Benjamin Kelly, State Rep. Shawn Harrison’s District Secretary, had an exchange via Email with a Tampa Bay Times reporter about two of the students – David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez – who had earlier appeared on CNN to talk about the shooting.

In what is since then described as a Valentine’s Day massacre, shooting at the Portland High school left 17 dead, most of them children, with dozens wounded.

After surviving the shooting, both Hogg and Emma gave an interview to CNN on Monday morning in which they requested the government to disband the NRA and implement stricter gun-control laws.

In the wake of these comments, Benjamin Kelly sent an email to Tampa Bay Times’ Washington Bureau Chief, Alex Leary, and stated that they “are not students here but actors that travel to various crisis when they happen.”

When Tampa Bay Times asked Kelly to substantiate his claim by giving facts, the former aide sent the newspaper a link to a YouTube video, in which baseless comments were made against Hogg.

“There is a clip on youtube that shows Mr. Hogg out in California. (I guess he transferred?),” Kelly retorted in the email, according to the Times.

Kelly’s bluff was called when some of the journalists found an article on Coral Springs Talk.

The article, published six days before the massacre took place, showed that Hogg was a student at Marjory Stoneman and discussed a documentary he made alongside other students of the high school.

Gonzalez, the student who appeared alongside Hogg on CNN, could also be seen working in the documentary as the team leader.

After their brief exchange with Kelly, Times contacted Rep. Shawn Harrison, who called the comment ‘’totally inappropriate’’, and promised to look further into the matter.

On Tuesday afternoon, just a day after Kelly had sent the email, the State Representative tweeted from his official account that his aide was put on leave. Two hours later, Harrison said that Kelly was fired from his job and apologized to the grieving families for the disparaging comments made by his former aide.
