Harvey Weinstein Indicted on rape, criminal sexual act charges

The disgraced movie giant has decided to waive his right to appear in front of the New York grand jury on Wednesday afternoon.

Harvey Weinstein was indicted on rape and criminal sex act charges on Wednesday by a New York grand jury. The shamed movie mogul decided to waive his right to appear in front of the jury on Wednesday afternoon.

The reason the panel had gathered in the first place was to ascertain whether the accusers presented enough evidence to bring criminal charges against Weinstein. And now that it has voted in the affirmative, Weinstein is, in the words of Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., ‘’another step closer to accountability’’.

Weinstein currently remains free after he agreed to pay $1m in bail.

It was last Friday that the disgraced film producer was charged on one count of criminal sexual act and two counts of rape. The alleged incidents involved two separate women, one in 2004 and the other in 2013.

The women who brought the 2004 charge against Weinstein is former actress Lucia Evans who accused Weinstein of forcing her to perform oral sex in his office the same year. The other charge relates to a woman whose identity hasn’t been revealed. She may also choose to remain anonymous.

“A grand jury has voted to indict Harvey Weinstein on charges of rape in the first and third degrees, and criminal sexual act in the first degree,” Cyrus Vance, Manhattan’s district attorney, said.

Before the indictment was announced later in the day, a statement was issued on behalf of Weinstein’s lawyer, who said: “After being unfairly denied access to critical information about this case that was needed to defend him before the grand jury, Mr. Weinstein’s attorneys decided there was not sufficient time to properly prepare Mr. Weinstein.”

It further added that since neither the identities of the accusers not the specific charges against him weren’t revealed to Weinstein until last Friday, he would not testify. The statement further accused Mr. Vance of bearing ‘’political pressure’’ to secure a conviction.

After Weinstein was indicted, Mr. Brafman, his lawyer, said: ‘’The announcement of Mr. Weinstein’s indictment does not come as a surprise.”

“We will soon formally move to dismiss the indictment and if this case actually proceeds to trial, we expect Mr. Weinstein to be acquitted.”

After allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against Weinstein last year, he was fired as the CEO of Weinstein Company. His wife is also undertaking the necessary steps to divorce him.

Matthew shared a photo of himself in a suit and bow-tie alongside his beautiful partner Angela Jones wearing an elegant white wide dress on social media on Monday.

‘’Not only did I miss @ArcticMonkeys in LA but they were performing in Italy at the same time we were there and my wife made me get married instead.’’ Said Matthew, before jokingly adding: ‘’Fuming”.

Once he shared the happy news, Matthew’s Twitter feed was flooded with messages of congratulations and well-wishes from fans and co-stars alike.

Fellow actor Chris Rankin, who played the role of Percy Weasley in the films, added: ‘’ “Look at you. Congratulations beauties x”. Tom Felton, who played the role of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, congratulated Matthew by adding: ‘’ “Top lad xx.”

It was reportedly in January 2016 that the couple met for the first time. Back then, Angela was working at an event at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, Florida. They began dating in July 2016 and it was in November the same year that Matthew proposed to her, apparently at the Eifel Tower in Paris, France.

“They’re both over the moon. They got together in July and hit it off straight away,” a representative for the couple told E! News at the time.

See? You don’t have to have a love potion for a happy ending every time.

In case you don’t seem to get enough of ‘’Westworld’’ stars, James Marsden has accepted the opportunity to play the leading role in Paramount’s ‘’Sonic the Hedgehog’’ movie. The film, which will be an adaptation of the iconic video game, is a hybrid of animation and live action.

After landing the film rights to the game in 2017, Paramount turned to Jeff Fowler to direct the same. Neal H. Moritz will be producing this movie under his Original Film banner whereas Toby Ascher, Dan Jevons, and Dmitri Johnson will co-produce.

Ever since the launch of the game in 1991, Sega has sold a massive 430 million copies of it to date. The sales include both digital games on mobile, tablets, and consoles as well as packaged ones.

Apart from the video games, the Sonic franchise has also made forays into other media, including anime, carton, and a long-running comic-book series, which Guinness World Records recognizes as the longest running book series on a video game.

However, before Paramount’s decision to take the story and turn it into a Hollywood movie, no film has been made on ‘’Sonic the Hedgehog’’ game.

The storyline of the game revolves around a hedgehog named Sonic who is on a mission to defeat Dr. Eggman. The scientist is guilty of incarcerating animals in robots. Also, he has stolen the magical Chaos Emeralds.

Marsden is currently playing the role of Teddy in HBO’s ‘’Westworld’’. The sci-fi drama is in its second season and continues to be one of the most popular shows to have ever come out from HBO. Daniel Ek, the CEO of Spotify, was speaking at the invitation-only Code Conference which is an annual confluence of the biggest names from the digital technology ecosystem.

Speaking at the annual Code Conference, Daniel Ek, the CEO of Spotify, has admitted that the global music streaming giant was too ‘’ambiguous’’ about its Anti-Hate policy in the past. He further admitted that the company ‘’could have done a much better job’’ with its policy.

His latest statement means that Spotify would no longer promote music from any artist like R. Kelly who has been accused of sexual misconduct.

“The whole goal with this was to make sure that we didn’t have hate speech on the service. It was never about punishing one individual,” Ek told the audiences of the invitation-only Code Conference. “We rolled this out wrong and we could have done a much better job.”

Spotify announced earlier this month its decision to introduce a new policy on hateful conduct and hate speech. That policy would stop the streaming giant to promote music from artists who have been accused of sexual misconduct or those whose conduct has been deemed offensive.

While seemingly carried out in good faith, Spotify’s move earned it the ire of some users even though the content of Kelly was still accessible on the platform. Responding to the backlash, EK reiterated that all the company wanted to be ‘’was just transparent’’.

While Spotify earned a massive $1.36billion in revenue in the first quarter of this year, it is facing increasing competition from YouTube and Apple. Both these tech giants have started offering their music streaming services, with a 2-year-old Apple Music boasting 50-million members, both paid and free.

In comparison, Spotify has 170-million members, 75million of which are paid subscribers to the platform. YouTube, on the other hand, has only recently launched a revamped YouTube Music app.

Therefore, even though both the companies are making strong progress – and with both having deeper pockets that Spotify – as things stand, both Apple and YouTube have to go a long way before they can dethrone Spotify from its world leadership of streaming music.

In addition to this, Conelly also spoke about shooting on film, lines about cellphones, and landing in trouble with the authorities. The words, which started from a slow repeat, slowly turned into a cacophony as the show progressed.

Speaking after the show, Conelly revealed that the lines were a memoir for designer Nicolas Ghesquiere written by iconic fashion editor Grace Coddington in 2012. It was Ghesquiere who eventually turned these phrases into a soundtrack by Woodkid remixing them.

These phrases, however, weren’t the only ones on repeat throughout the show. Instead, ‘’Maybe we’ll see’’ was another forceful phrase thumping on repeat.

Maybe, it was an effort from Ghesquiere to throw out a myriad of ideas to see what sticks, because the show itself was a diverse mix as it included everything from drawstring shorts to cowboy hats. There were tan jackets with Elizabethan collar and lingerie with a flowing embroidered robe.

Also, while both the bombers and Rain jackets had the Louis Vuitton logo on the inside, you couldn’t see it until the sleeve was turned up or the collar was propped. There were Archlight trainers, too, though Ghesquiere had turned them into thigh-high, ultra-slim boots with a gold sole and patent leather.

The show was attended by a myriad of celebrities and sitting in the front row were Justin Theroux, Emma Stone, Sophie Turner, Ruth Negga, Sienna Miller, Laura Harrier, and Lea Seydoux. Connelly, meanwhile, was sitting alongside French actresses Camelia Jordana, Isabelle Huppert, and Marina Fos.

In the wake of ABC’s decision to cancel ‘’Roseanne’’ after a racist tweet from its star Roseanne Barr, Twitter was full of reactions from the bigwigs of Hollywood.

ABC’s decision to cancel ‘’Roseanne’’ following its lead actor Roseanne Barr posted a racist tweet has attracted mixed reaction on Twitter. While some of the stars slammed Barr for her racist tweet, others questioned why in the first place the show was rebooted, and what will happen to other cast members now that the show is history.

The most vocal response to ABC’s decision came from none other than ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey who called Roseanne’s Twitter statement as ‘’abhorrent, repugnant, and inconsistent with our values’’.

Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney which is the parent company of ABC Entertainment, added: ‘’ “There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing.”

‘’Roseanne’’ was revived in March on ABC and its first episode drew a massive audience of over 18.2 million viewers, making it the second-most-hit scripted television show of the current season. The main character of the show was Roseanne Barr who was portrayed as a Trump supporter.

However, despite its popularity, the show has been controversial of late. For instance, in an episode earlier this month, Roseanne asks her sister whether she thinks ‘’terrorists’’ are living next door, as a Muslim family lives next door to the Conners.

What nobody could have predicted, however, was the tweet which came from Roseanne Barr yesterday. In her tweet, Barr called Valerie Jarrett, a former White House aide, an offspring of the ‘’Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes’’.

Remember, Jarret is a black woman was born in Iran to American parents. Even when Twitter users pointed that the comment was racist, Barr replied by saying that ‘’Muslims r NOT a race’’. However, as more and more Twitter users shamed her, Barr announced she was ‘’leaving Twitter’’ and that she was truly sorry for a ‘’bad joke’’.

In the wake of backlash and Barr’s decision to quit Twitter, Wanda Skyes, a consulting producer of ‘’Roseanne’’, announced she would not be working on the second season of the show.

Meanwhile, Tom Werner, who is the executive producer of the show, said he supports ABC’s decision to cancel the show.

Shonda Rhimes, who has appeared in several shows on NBC (but currently has a deal with Netflix), also tweeted in support of ABC’s decision. She said: ““Thank you, Channing. #justice.”

Later, in a separate tweet, she added: ‘’ “But honestly she got what she deserved. As I tell my 4 year old, one makes a choice with one’s actions. Roseanne made a choice. A racist one. ABC made a choice. A human one.”

Kumail Nanjiani also took to twitter and posted that he was ‘glad Roseanne is cancelled. The backlash to its cancellation is going to be a deafening nightmare. Nothing good has come out of this entire thing.”

Netflix Again Under Pressure To Cancel ‘’13 Reasons Why’’

The controversial drama series, which is based on the novel of the same name and depicts teen suicide, is running for the 2nd straight season at Netflix.

Streaming giant Netflix has come under pressure from regulatory bodies to cancel ‘’13 Reasons Why’’ after the drama aired a male rape scene.

‘’13 Reasons Why’’ is based on a young-adult book of author Jay Asher of the same name. The main character of the series is Hannah, a high-school girl who committed suicide and left behind 13 cassette tapes for Clay, her boyfriend.

Just like its debut season which was aired last May, the second season has also generated controversy. It deals with the topics of school shootings, sexual assault, rape culture, and addiction. The main theme of the show, however, is mental illness and depression.

Critics have slammed the show for containing ‘’needlessly graphic’’ scenes, despite the fact it comes with a mature content disclaimer in which the lead stars of the show tell the audience that the upcoming season will tackle ‘’tough, real-world issues’’.

The show goes as far as to advise its younger viewers to watch it with an adult. Netflix, on the other hand, wanted to avoid this critique by prefacing all the episodes with PSA’s warning. It also provides a number of valuable online resources for sexual assault, mental health, bullying, and suicide.

Still, that hasn’t satisfied the Parents Television Council which claims that the show provides “cause for despondency’’.

“Netflix has delivered a ticking time bomb to teens and children who watch 13 Reasons Why,’” said group president Tim Winter in a statement.

“We would have liked to have 13 reasons for hope and redemption following the graphic suicide of the lead character, but rather than providing a path forward, the season only provides cause for despondency,” Winter lamented.

Responding to the criticism, Brian Yorkey, the creator of the show, told Vulture: “We fully understand that that means some of the scenes in the show will be difficult to watch.

“I think Netflix has helped provide viewers with lots of resources for understanding that this may not be the show for everybody, and also resources for people who do watch it and are troubled and need help.’’

When asked specifically about the male rape scene, here’s what the Executive producer Mandy Teefey had to say: ‘’ “I would just suggest that they Google the news.”

“It’s shocking, it’s horrific, but it’s happening. There’s videos that people post and that’s online forever. It’s [in] the culture, so just look it up and educate yourself that you need look out for this.”

Alan Rickman was frustrated with the way his ‘’Severus Snape’’ role was portrayed in the Harry Potter series, his personal letter collection has now revealed.

He played the role of a moody professor in the series who was never able to come on good terms with Harry Potter.

One letter, which is written by producer David Heyman, sheds light on the frustration Rickman had about his role in the series.

“Thank you for making HP2 a success.” the letter reads.  “I know, at times, you are frustrated but please know that you are an integral part of the films. And you are brilliant.”

There is another letter which Rickman penned himself in 2009 while he was working on ‘’The Half-Blood Prince’’. Named ‘’Inside Snape’s Head’’, the letter brilliantly captures the frustration which Rickman had about his role and how Director Yates managed the storyline of his character in the movie.

“It’s as if David Yates has decided that this is not important in the scheme of things i.e. teen audience appeal,” Rickman noted.

The letters which were under Rickman’s possession before his death in 2016 also include one from JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, in which she thanks Rickman for ‘’doing justice to my most complex character’’.

In addition to containing letters from the team of Harry Potter, Rickman’s collection also includes letters from Bill Clinton, Prince Charles, and Tony Blair.

Other items in his collection – which is set to be auctioned off at the ABA Rare Book Festival in London – include Rickman’s copy of ‘’Die Hard’’ script, the 1988 movie in which Rickman played the role of villain ‘’Hans Gruber’’.

Actor Neil Pearson, who has brought together the worlds, told Daily Mirror that Rickman’s collection consists of 35 boxes. And that it contains the script of ‘’Truly Madly Deeply’’ and ‘’Robin Hood Prince of Thieves’’.

The collection is valued at £950,000.

The 93-year-old former president of the United States was experiencing low blood pressure and fatigue, his spokesman has confirmed.

A family spokesman has confirmed that former US President George HW Bush was admitted into a Maine hospital on Sunday after experiencing low blood pressure and fatigue. The spokesman further confirmed that he will remain in the hospital for a few more days for observation.

“The former president is awake and alert, and not in any discomfort,” wrote the family spokesman Jim McGrath on his Twitter account.

Bush was also hospitalized last month to treat an infection which had spread to his blood. That time, he was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital where he remained hospitalized for almost two weeks.

It was during her stay in there that the hospital announced of naming an atrium in its new Walter Tower after George and Barbara Bush.

He was hospitalized just a day after the funeral of his wife and former first lady Barbara Bush. The couple had been married for 73 years.

Bush, who has a long-time habit of spending his summers in Maine, arrived in the state on May 20th, about a month after the death of his wife.

The former President’s official Twitter account showed him having a breakfast with veterans in Kennebunkport, Maine last Saturday. The program, which was organized as a part of American Legion, was also attended by retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Ben Scowcroft, who served as the National Security Adviser under the senior Bush.

“Hello, old friend’’.

Although these were the last three words of ‘’Phase Space’’, they might influence the upcoming storyline of ‘’Westworld’’ more than anything that went before them in the episode. For, the speaker of these words was Robert Ford in his metaphysical form in the ‘’Cradle’’ a data backup center in the center of Mesa.

However, that is not all, for the physical form of Robert currently lays in Escalante. It means that the fans of HBO’s famed sci-fi series could expect a new twist in the coming episodes.

In addition to this, the ‘’Phase Space’’ also has plenty of hair-raising moments. Take, for instance, the moment when Maeve found her daughter. Or when Dolores made a weapon out of a train. Or when Emily and The Man in Black fell in love, only for Emily to leave in disappointment and frustration.

Therefore, while the second season of ‘’Westworld’’ is already six episodes old – with only four remaining – ‘’Phase Space’’ did well to turn things up a notch.

Maeve Reunites with her daughter

Maeve has been haunted by memories of her daughter ever since she achieved her self-awareness. In ‘’Phase Space’’, therefore, it was only logical for Maeve to escape from Shogun World and successfully reach the cabin where her daughter lay waiting, but not for her.

Instead, she has swapped Maeve out for a new mother. However, before the disappointment had sunk in, the Ghost Nation attacked the cabin to reignite Maeve’s memories of warriors snatching her daughter.

It was during the attack that one Ghost Nation warrior told Maeve that both of them share the same destiny, and it was that fate which attracted Maeve towards her pretended daughter.

Dolores regretting making Teddy-bot 2.0

Viewers who watched last week’s episode might recount how Dolores reconstituted a once wimpy eyed Teddy into a cold-blooded killer. Well, in this episode, Teddy shows Dolores the monster she has created as he goes on a killing spree on the train.

Although he is exactly what Dolores had expected him to be, seeing how merciless Teddy has become spooked Dolores. It can be said that Dolores might be feeling a sudden bit of remorse.

Emily has a thing for the Man in Black

Just like Maeve’s reunion with her daughter, Emily was also able to have a genuine meeting with the Man in Black. Emily thought it was pathetic for the Man in Black build his life around Ford’s puzzles and Westworld, but accepted that she shouldn’t have blamed William for her mother’s suicide.

It was at this moment that a sort of chemistry developed between Emily and the Man in Black. However, before anything else happened, the show blanched and the Man in Black disappeared into the night.

The Moustache Man

He might sound like Conor McGregor mimicking Lucky Charms, but Coughlin, the new mercenary enforcer of Delos, is a blast of fresh, unadulterated air into the show. He makes his appearance by parachuting in to save Abernathy.

However, it isn’t her fighting skills which might make Coughlin a darling of the viewers. Instead, it is the way he swears – and how much he swears – that might turn him into our favorite new character from ‘’Westworld’’.

Dolores’ plan still not unveiled

What would Dolores do when the train finally reaches Dolos labs? Does she have a plan up her-sleeves? These two questions remained unanswered in the sixth episode of this season’s ‘’Westworld’’. And as the season now only has 4 episodes left, it can be expected that the next episode would be a bit more forthcoming regarding the plan of Dolores.

The suit has been filed by Sesame Workshop, the production house behind ‘’Sesame Street’’, against the makers of upcoming film ‘’The Happytime Murders’’.

The production company of ‘’Sesame Street’’ has filed a lawsuit against the makers of ‘’The Happytime Murders’’. The R-rated movie, which is set to be released in August this year, features Melissa McCarthy in the starring role.

The set of the film is prepared in the ‘’underbelly of Los Angeles’’ in a world where humans and puppets live together. In a recently released trailer, the movie shows puppets involved in prostitution, sex, and even murder.

However, it isn’t the trailer which is the reason why SX Entertainment, the makers of ‘’The Happytime Murders’’, are facing a lawsuit. Instead, it is the use of a tagline ‘’No Sesame. All Street’’ which has attracted the ire of the bigwigs of ‘’Sesame Street’’. The lawsuit claims that the use of this tagline tarnishes a brand loved by millions of children for nearly 5 decades.

“We take no issue with the creative freedom of the filmmakers and their right to make and promote this movie, rather this is about how our name is being misused to market a film with which we have no association,” Sesame Workshop said in a statement.

Responding to the lawsuit, STX released a statement from one of the characters of the movie.

Ironically, the director of the movie is none other than Brian Henson, whose father Jim Henson was involved in the development of ‘’Sesame Street’’ characters. Jim was also involved in the creation of ‘’The Muppet Show’’ before his death in 1990 at the age of 53.

Melissa McCarthy plays the role of a police cop in ‘’The Happytime Murders’’ alongside a partner who is a puppet. Both of them are on a mission to crack the case involving the brutal murders of the former cast of a classic puppet television show.

The filmmakers describe the movie as a ‘’filthy comedy set in the underbelly of Los Angeles.’’ Its trailer further says that Brian Hanson is ‘’finally ready to reveal what goes down when kids aren’t around’’.

‘’The Happytime Murders’’ is set to be released on August 17 this year.

One Year On: The Day Manchester Defeated Terrorism

Today marks a year since the deadly Manchester bombings which rocked the whole of Britain and claimed the lives of innocent human beings.

Twenty-two innocent human beings were killed on this day back in 2017 when a fanatic blew himself up by detonating a device during an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester arena. Children and elderly were among the victims.

Still, if Salman Abedi – the 22-year-old Manchester-born bomber – hoped that his dastardly act would force the Mancunians to cower in fear, he failed badly.

Where there were stories of shock, terror, and agony on that day, tales of courage, love, hope, and indomitable spirit have now taken over. So courageous has been the response of Britain that humanity can afford to be proud of it.

And to pay tribute to the victims whose lives were lost that day, we hear a story of a victim who, despite being closest to the bomber when he detonated his device, managed to survive and still has his hope and courage intact.

Martin Hibbert – The Survivor

Martin Hibbert, a football agent belonging to Bolton, was one of those lucky people who, despite standing closest to the bomber, were still able to survive.

He had gone to the concert with his 15-year-old daughter and was one of those people who were leaving it early in a bid to avoid rush hour traffic. Little did he know that heading out early would mean that they would encounter the bomber in the foyer.

It was only a few moments after that the explosion happened.

Hibbert says the moments following the attack felt like ‘’you were in hell’’. He further says that there wasn’t a part of his body that wasn’t bleeding as 22 shrapnel pieces had pierced into him.

As for her daughter which he had brought alongside him, Hibbert remembers her lying a few feet away from him. He further says that it was after 45-minutes that the medics put her on a stretcher and carried her to the hospital. After that, he became unconscious and was taken to Salford Royal Hospital.

He underwent two seven-hour operations where to remove the nuts and bolts from his skin. One bolt, Hibbert remembers, was in his face which he tweezered out and still keeps n a jar to remember himself of his courageous act.

Currently, doctors are of the view that Hibbert may never walk again, whereas his daughter is reduced to a wheel-chair after she had damaged her brain during the incident.

Still, that doesn’t stop Hibbert who says that as a family, they are ‘’refusing to let terrorism win’’.

The remarks were made by a senior North Korean Government official who further said that his country would not ‘’beg’’ the United States for a dialogue.

A senior member of the North Korean Government has ridiculed remarks of US Vice-President Mike Pence by calling them ‘’stupid’’. These remarks have come in the wake of tensions which have grown between North Korea and the United States over the past few weeks.

During an interview which he gave to Fox News a few days ago, Mike Pence had warned North Korea of a fate similar to that of Libya should it decides against nuclearisation. He had also warned North Korea that it would be committing a ‘’mistake’’ if the North Koreans think they can ‘’play’’ President Trump.

Even by North Korean standards, the response to Mr. Pence’s comments was belligerent as Choe Son Hui, North Korea’s vice-minister of foreign affairs, responded by raising questions about the utility of the summit if Washington’s position was reflected by Mr. Pence’s remarks.

“Whether the US will meet us at a meeting room or encounter us at nuclear-to-nuclear showdown is entirely dependent upon the decision and behavior of the United States,” she said in a statement to KCNA state news agency.

“We will neither beg the US for dialogue nor take the trouble to persuade them if they do not want to sit together with us.”

She further said: ‘’ “In view of the remarks of the US high-ranking politicians who have not yet woken up to this stark reality and compare the DPRK to Libya that met a tragic fate, I come to think that they know too little about us. To borrow their words, we can also make the US taste an appalling tragedy it has neither experienced nor even imagined up to now.’’

While Mike Pence is currently in the line of fire of the North Koreans, he is not the first US Leader who had drawn comparisons between North Korea and Libya. John Bolton, the security adviser of President Trump, has also urged the North Koreans to follow the ‘’Libyan model’’ of nuclear disarmament.

The proposed summit between President Trump and Kim Jong-un is scheduled to take place on 12th June in Singapore.

A 12-year-old survivor of the Manchester Arena Bombing Attack – who was invited to attend the Royal Wedding – claims that getting a selfie with David Beckham was the ‘’best bit’’ for her about the whole day.

Amelia Mae Thompson was chuffed to see a beaming David Beckham stop behind his wife to have a selfie with her. That moment was caught live on television and the ecstatic reaction of the 12-year-old made her an instant Internet sensation.

After taking the selfie, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and LA Galaxy legend hugged Amelia to make her day.

Later, when she got in front of the ITV News cameras, Amelia was asked about the ‘’best bit’’ of her day, to which she replied: “Getting a selfie with David Beckham and seeing the horse and carriage go past.”

Other items on her list included seeing Prince Harry with his brother Prince William and Meghan’s bridesmaids.

Amelia was one of the survivors of the deadly Manchester Arena terror attack which took place on May 22 last year and claimed the lives of 22 people.

Her visit to the concert was supposed to be a treat for Amelia following a few difficult years in her life where Amelia saw the death of her uncle and her father suffering two heart attacks.

She is currently undergoing speech therapy and counseling sessions after damaging her vocal chords from screaming in utter terror during the attack, as per the Manchester Evening News.

When Amelia was invited to the Royal Wedding, she was allowed to bring as her guest one of her family members. Instead, she made the kind gesture of bringing the grandmother of one of the victims of the terror attack with her.

Sarah Goodman, the lady who Amelia invited as her guest to the Royal Wedding, lost her granddaughter in the blast. Amelia says she decided to invite her in an effort to ‘’put a smile on her face’’.

The second part of the two-episode finale which aired on Tuesday night saw Brynn Cartelli crowned as the winner of ‘’The Voice’’ Season 14.

We have a winner: Brynn Cartelli has been crowned as the Champion of Season 14 of NBC’s singing competition ‘’The Voice’’.

The final part of the two-episode finale aired Tuesday night on NBC where Cartelli was joined by three other finalists. The last round of this year’s competition required each of the finalists to perform a duet with their coach, a solo and an original song.

Cartelli was declared the winner after she received the most number of votes from viewers via text messages, the Internet, telephone, and the iTunes store. With her victory on Tuesday, she has become the youngest ever winner of ‘’The Voice’’.

Among the remaining three finalists, Britton Buchanan won second place, while Kyla Jade grabbed the 3rd spot and Spensha Baker came 4th.

This year’s top four finalists were announced on Monday night in the first part of the two-episode finale. While Buchanan (Team Alicia), Cartelli (Team Kelly) and Jade and Baker (Team Blake) made it to the final round, the contestants of coach Adam Levine were eliminated before the final episode.

Cartelli was declared the winner on Tuesday after all four contestants delivered two hours of grueling non-competition performances. The finalists had to perform not only with former contestants of the show but also with their favorite artists.

While Cartelli performed alongside Julia Michaels a medley of ‘’Issues and Jump’’, runner-up Buchanan teamed with Ryan Adams to perform ‘’To Be Without You’’. It was an interesting combo as both Buchanan and Ryan Adams belong to North Carolina.

Spensha Baker, who finished third on the night, joined her forces with Kane Brown for ‘’What If’’ and Jade performed a duet with Hudson on ‘’I Know Where I’ve Been’’.

The finale featured guest performances from the winner of Season 13 Chloe Kohanski, Dua Lipa, Halsey, Big Sean, Jason Aldean and Florence and the Machine. It also featured a confirmation from Host Carson Daly who announced that Hudson and Clarkson will return as coaches for Season 15, joining Adam Levine and Shelton.
